Introduction

The Estonian Skating Union is coordinating and developing figure skating, speed skating and short track speed skating in Estonia.

The first Estonian Championships in Figure Skating were held in 1917 in Tallinn.  The first Estonian Speed Skating Championships  were organized by sportsclub Kalev  on the 17th of February in 1910. Before the Second World War Figure Skating and Speed Skating were coordinated by The Estonian Wintersports Union.

The Estonian Skating Union was founded on the 23 of January 1991 and at the same year International Skating Union readmitted us as a Provisional Member of the I.S.U. From that date Estonian skaters could take part in International Competitions and I.S.U. Championships.
